Children's book author and storyteller
Children’s book author Dr. Monisola Komolafe has always enjoyed storytelling. She was inspired to write her new book, Ade’s Special Outfit, to share and educate
young readers about the clothing and culture of the Yoruba people of West Africa. Her wish is to present the correct information to children, their families, and educators, about how the clothing is worn, the occasions on which they are worn, and their significance.

The Riverdale Branch Library is 12,000 square feet and has space for 60,000 books. The multipurpose room seats 30 and includes a kitchenette. With parking for 80 vehicles, easy access from Valley Hill Road and the Lamar Hutchenson Parkway, the library affords a convenient location for the Riverdale community.
A very special feature of the library is the walled garden which provides a setting for outdoor reading and children’s activities. Hand painted tables in the children’s area provide a visual delight for the smallest library patron.
The Riverdale branch library of the Clayton County Library System is dedicated in honor of Lee Brent Philmon, past chairman of the Clayton County Library Board of trustees. The building was officially dedicated on January 11, 1998.
